With the Offline Film Festival eight international Media Culture Master students at the Faculty of Arts and Culture, explore the aesthetic, political and cultural aspects of independent cinema and the music industry. This is our master project under the coordination of Martijn Hendriks.

Through the festival we want to present to a broader public some of the themes and subjects that we coped with during our studies: the impact of new technologies on society and the individual, the creation of new public spheres and new ways of storytelling, to name a few.

The Festival shows a visual culture avoided in the big budget productions of Hollywood and MTV: we will present independent movies from different parts of the world, a music clips side programs and a program of radical media clips.

The realization of this project would not be possible without the support of the University of Maastricht and Lumière’s cooperation, to which we would hereby like to express our gratitude.
